TRAVEL

With all travel please be aware that the wedding is set to take place during the school summer holidays.

We would advise booking early to avoid inflated costs.

Venue

Sandbrook Estate is located in Ballon, Co Carlow. Website here - https:// sandbrook.ie/. If you are staying in Carlow Town its approximately a 20 minute drive. Taxis will run from Carlow town. Likely best to book ahead and of course come in groups if you can. We will post numbers for local cab firms closer the time. We will also be arranging a local firm to get everyone home after the festivities. Please be aware this will be limited so feel free to book your own. We will update this when we have an idea of where everyone is staying. Just to note, our venue is a manor house we are renting outright, not a hotel and its not possible to book rooms there. We have a limited number we can accommodate and this is taken up with family and bridal party members.

Heading to the event…

Planes, Buses and Trains

Planes - BA, Easy Jet, Air Lingus and Ryan Air fly from all London and Midlands airports and start from around £70 up.

Buses - In terms of getting direct from Dublin Airport via public transport your best option is actually the bus which will take you directly to Carlow town in just over 2 hours; https://www.dublinairport.com/to-trom-the-airport/by-bus

Trains - If you are staying in Dublin for a few days before the wedding the train to carlow runs from Heuston Station and takes 1 hour. https://www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/station/dublin-heuston

Driving

Car Hire - We advise everyone from the UK to try and make a holiday out of this and enjoy the beautiful country that is Ireland. As such a car would be a great addition if this is what you fancy and have a license. All the major car rental companies operate out ot Dublin Airport so just google Dublin Airport car hire and lots ot options will come up. Driving from Dublin to Carlow is about 2 hours on a good day. Beltast to carlow is about 2 hours 40 min on a good day.

Drive and Ferry - Stena Line and Irish ferries operate out of Holyhead to Dublin and Liverpool to Beltast. Driving from Dublin to Carlow is about 2 hours on a good day. Belfast to carlow is about 2 hours 40 min on a good day.

ACCOMMODATION

Please check the location of where you are booking in relation to the wedding venue.

Air BNB - Ballon, Co Carlow is the area we are getting married in. Also a couple of suggestions of the type of Air BnBs available.

Carlow is the biggest town locally. Tullow is much smaller but closer. Both will have a selection of either hotels or guesthouses or both but please don’t limit yourselves to where you stay especially if making a holiday of it! There are lots of beautiful towns within a manageable driving distance of our venue.
